As a gesture to Mayor Bloomberg, Reverend Blows Shofar Wears Tallis
In the campaign’s most ecumenical gesture, the Rev. Elijah Thompson, pastor of the Bronx Miracle Gospel Tabernacle church, yesterday greeted Mayor Bloomberg by blowing a shofar and donning a Jewish prayer shawl, two weeks before the high holidays.
In a rare move, Thompson endorsed Bloomberg from the church’s pulpit.
Religious leaders usually make their endorsements outside their houses of worship.

Wow, that reminds of the time that the local diocese asked Rabbi Swift in Pittsburgh to dress up as Santa Claus
If he endorsed him from th epulpit, he can lose his tax exempt status.
